So I had a really lucky weekend because I got another one this evening. Small doe shot from about 65 yards hit in the same spot as the 8 point but she ran about 150 yards. Had to drag her out of a swamp which wasn't very fun but I've got a freezer full of venison now.

Haha those ones are so much fun. I was going to go in the AM but decided not to. I'll give it another go Thursday probably. I need to get about 2 more

Nice deer
Thanks! I saw an absolute monster on Monday but didn't get a chance to even raise my rifle on him because he was chasing a doe and I only saw him for about 5 seconds. I did have about 10 hogs come out an hour later and took a shot at one but unfortunately missed. First time I've actually seen hogs on that land so I'm going to be focusing on trying to hunt them now.

Got this big boy yesterday evening about 10 minutes before dark. I had passed up on a button buck about 2 hours earlier and my patience was rewarded. I didn't find him until early this morning but he didn't get very far (was slumped behind a fallen tree about 35-40 yards from where I shot him). His antlers were broken; missing a tine on his left side and about half of his right side but from what I can tell would've been a 10 point if his antlers were intact. I can't be entirely certain but I'm almost positive this is the deer I saw the other day chasing does.

This little guy has been hanging around my place.
Would sure like to get a chance to take a shot at him. Timing just hasn't been there and we are just about out of season...
That's a nice 8 point - we've still got another weekend so hopefully you'll get your chance still

Man they been doing that just about all season. Catch one slipping up here and there but not much. There are some smart ones around here lol. Plus I'm a 1st year hunter so I'm sure I aint helping lol
Awesome, glad you getting out there! I'm sure you probably already know but be sure to keep your scent in check as much as you can and to check the wind direction. I've had my best luck either right before or right after a rain storm and right around either a full moon or a new moon. Other than that it's just being in the right place at the right time which is mostly luck.

Yeah I think alot of it has to do with the Old man moving his blinds and shooting houses all around the property the whole time. He is the only one shooting any lol
