Ask ten 1911 owners and you’ll get at least 25 answers. Lol.
For me, I prefer good leather holsters. My favorite is a OWB, taco style, zero cant like a Bruce Nelson Professional or a Milt Sparks 55BN. Galco has the Avenger which is similar.
I also like Galco’s vertical shoulder holster.

@SandyShooter is so right - every 1911 owner has a handful of favorites!

For OWB, I prefer Milt Sparks’ Roadrunner (aka, the “old style 60TK”) - it’s not officially in the Sparks catalog, but they’ll make it on-request. When going IWB, I prefer a classic Summer Special-style holster like this one from the revived Bruce Nelson Combat Leather line. Both are high-riding and forward-canted, my usual preference.

Pics of both below.

I like their single-mag OWB pouch (the S4C) but also have a fondness for their IPD, a double-mag IWB pouch. The mags ride high and close. I’ve had this one for a while now…

Looks very nice. I normally only carry a sig 938 and sometimes only a NAA mag 22 in the summer. However, I’ve been looking at starting to carry a colt commander or maybe a 3” kimber I bought a while back.

I keep having this internal debate as to whether the higher weight of the 1911 variant is worth it instead of the 9mm sig 938. I’ve never carried an extra mag.

how do you like the 938 vs the kimber micro 9?had the guy at academy tell me choose the sig over the kimber. but ive read bad reviews on the micro having failure to feed issues on the 2nd round.

I’ve never shot a kimber 9. The 3” kimber I mentioned above is an ultra carry in 45 from their custom shop.

My experience with the 938 is very positive. Likely the softest and smoothiest shooting small 9mm I’ve ever tried. Surprisingly accurate as well and I’ve never experienced a failure. I’ve carried mine off and on for over a decade.

I even thought about buying a second one.
