Im looking for a 12 or 20ga pump

Has something happened to Mossberg recently? I thought the common consensus was that a 500/590 was the best value you can get for a new pump and that a Maverick 88 was the best budget option. I know anything made my Remington after 2007/2008 is to be avoided
