Remember that Browning has been a "brand" - not a "manufacturer. Over the years, they have had many companies making their guns for them.

That’s very true about the actual producers. I personally prefer the older Brownings in general. FN did a great job on most of their production runs. However, my personal view of the O/U Citori is the best steel was that produced in Japan.
