A very good friend of mine owned this Beautiful S&W 586. I have been trying to buy it or trade for it for 2 years. I had a revolver that he wanted so he traded his 586 nickel for a New model 629 44 magnum with the silly lock. Very happy to have this vintage Smith made in 1983!

Very nice 586. I like the L frame. Have a 4", and a 6", both no dash. The 6 has been back
to S&W on the recall, and some other work. The 4" hasn't. I have put many, many rounds
through that 4", and I love shooting it.

I really like the L frame revolver’s. Love the way they feel and Look. Have either of your L frames been sent back to S&W for the recall. Mine has the M stamp inside the crane.

Just the 6" on the recall, and the previous owner had some work done, added a lanyard loop,
chamfered the ejector, and had it refinished in black. It is nice. I'll try to get a pic posted of it.
The 4" I bought right after they came out. Decided not to send it back on the recall. I put many, many rounds of .38 and .357 rounds through it, all the way from wadcutters to Super Vel 110's and 125's, plus some hot reloads of mine. Never had a problem with anything I put in it.

Finally found a pic of my 6" 586. Can't believe I haven't shot it yet. LOL
Check out the lanyard loop, I think it is a neat addition. The previous owner
did a lot of hiking so when he sent it back to S&W on the recall he had them
install the loop.

A NICKEL 586?
I'm prepared to not like you!

Seriously I don't care for shiny revolvers BUT Nickel is a different matter entirely.

Thar was a score in my books.

@Bama55 that’s a great-looking gun, and I think the lanyard loop is a classy, retro touch that is also functional if / when conditions warrant. Gives the gun a nice flavor of earlier S&W revolvers, IMO.
