Hey I'm looking for a subcompact ( ie. Glock 26 size) pistol for concealed carry. The 1.5 and single stack guns are too narrow for my hands but I also hate the feel of the brick I mean Glock. The HK VP9SK looks interesting but is probably a little rich for my blood. Basically I need a small gun for big hands if that makes any sense. Any suggestions or opinions are welcome. I also love the M&P 2.0 but not the 80 grit texture on them. Thanks in advance.

The Stoeger STR9c is a 13rd, steel magazine, glock-esque, budget gun with great features like reversible mag release, steel guide rod, light mount rail, loaded chamber indicator (XD style), interchangeable backstraps, big dot 3 dot sights, night sight and optics ready versions available, shallow finger grooves, aggressive texture where it needs to be aggressive, oversized trigger guard,, 4-5lb stock trigger, many glock parts work too. (I've put Glock underwater firing pin cups, connectors, pretravel set triggers, safety triggers, striker springs, and adapted S&W M&P Clipdraws to them.)

Extra mags can be had for 35-40 ea. Made in Turkey. They have occasional rebates. I have bought them as cheap as 225 dollars after rebate. They look kinda like an HK VP9, a Smith SV9 and a Glock were all mixed up.

Holsters can be a challenge.

They are too thin and I don't really like the ergonomics of glocks. I know I'm being picky but if a gun doesn't feel natural when I pick it up I'm never going to put the time in with it. The more research I do the more I like the HK, mainly because there is so much adaptability with the grip and side panels but man they are almost double what a Glock or S&W run.

You could look into the Keltec P11 or the SCCY pistols. I find them chunkier than the more recent 1.5 stack micro compacts.

Honestly the shield plus is the best double stack sub compact I've ever owned. I've had most of them. They're inexpensive, really good trigger and really good ergonomics.

Thanks for the help guys. I just moved to Tennessee a few weeks ago and the guys I work with are always buying and selling guns so I'm going something will show up. I had the first gen shield but it was a 40 which is way too much in a small package.

I'm fond of my Sig P365, 10+1 rounds of 9mm and it fits in the back pocket of my jeans. Significant upgrade from my old .380 S&W Bodyguard

Anderson makes a new “glockish” pistol but it does have a different grip. Glock 19 clone for about 300.00+-
It’s call Kiger 9c

If you have larger mitts and are looking for an alternative to the G26 I would recommend either the FNS9C or the newer FN 509C. The FNS9C comes with three mags. Two 12 rounders, one with a pinky extension and one with flat base plate. It also comes with a 17 round mag with a sleeve that basically gives the gun a full size grip. I technically can't speak for the 509C because I do not own one but I do own the 509 tactical and I can't say enough about it! There are going to be about a million opinions on the compact 9mm but there's mine. Good luck!

I've heard good things about the HK VP9SK and P30SK. I do carry a Glock 26, but I've heavily considered switching over to an HK. They're pretty inexpensive as far as HKs go, and can be bought used for less. The P30SK also has multiple trigger configurations if you like double action/single action, single action cocked and locked, and light, short, DAO triggers. Also comes with a bunch of swappable grip parts to better fit users' hands.

I have large hands and I really like the sig 938. I have a couple of them and they are very soft 9mm shooting options. You can also routinely find them used for $500-$600. Certainly not the latest tech but they are reliable, accurate and have good ergonomics at least for me.
