Been a tough season this year, no acorns and food plots were hit hard way too early.

You aint joking! And that hard freeze we had at Christmas killed all the greenfields! Public land hunting was terrible this year. But with all the FB and social media posts these out of towners that come down have made it really tough to hunt public land!

Public lands are substantially over hunted in most Alabama areas. You really have to find private land that is rarely hunted. I can’t believe some of the nice bucks I see on various land my family owns in N Alabama. There are some huge bucks out there.

I have a friend that owns some land (~100 acres) in S Alabama that he manages. Pretty much every couple of weeks he sends me some monster buck photos. I really need to find the time to go sit in the woods.

public land can be really good if you know where to go. Certain locals know where to go for the big bucks. I had a huge 8 pt on cam at 2am, a lil after 8 a guy i went to school with shot him 3 miles away from where i had the pic.

This buck came off a honey hole i hunt on public land in 2020. After i shot him I put a camera up and had 6 more bucks on camera all on the same trail he come from. WMA bucks are very nice.

My season's been pretty rough too. Only got to go once so far, and my truck's 4x4 went out on the way out which got me stuck. It's been in the shop ever since and they still haven't fixed it. Guess I won't be going hunting again this season...

I’ve seen more deer this year than any prior. Only thing is I have only see one deer on camera that was a questionable shooter. Normally I have several. The freeze hammered the plots but they bounced back very well. Not sure what’s going on.

My mother in law feeds em but doesn’t hunt. She has bucks every single day. Younger but still. I’ve been hunting a tiny piece of land without much effort and the picture with my boy in it 2B26DE6A-E2DC-421C-95AC-E320A6147186.jpeg is the only decent buck I’ve seen. I know several farmers that have been seeing 10-15 point monsters all season. They’re smart
