If you're here on this section of the Forum and reading this post, chances are you've got a "thing" for handguns.

Anyone care to share what their first handgun was and if they still have it?

Mine was a blue, 4-inch barrelled Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 .357 Magnum pretty much like the one pictured...it's not one that I still have. As I recall, it was a whopping $245 brand new back in 1987 haha...

Mine was a Rossi 38 special. Got it right after I turned 21. I've had to many to recall all of them in the 28 years since then. I currently carry a XD40 subcompact.

When I turned 5, that's about 37 years ago now - wow. I got a Stevens Ranger .410 bolt action mag fed shotgun. Still got it, it sits at a cabin of my parents above the door.

Mine was a Rugar p94 40cal. I bought it back in 1997. It was way too much gun for me for a first time gun. Alas I sold it a few years later, but would like to get it back now. I'm thinking the guy I sold it to may still have it. It was like this one here.

^^^ That "generation" of Rugers had a lot going for it. I always thought the P94 / P95 series guns looked really nice. I owned a P95 (also purchased in '97) and it was a rock-solid performer.

Ruger GP100 Stainless. Sold it last year. Regretted that decision for months. Final found another one and replaced it. First picture is the original. Second picture is the replacement. All is well.

my first was a police trader in s&w 5906that I bought at larry's in 03 or 04. had it for a couple of years and then sold it. went through a lot of other guns, and always had that longing to have my first back. got a chance to pick one up a few years back, and like most things, the memory of it was much better than it actually was. put a few mags through it and there is no comparison in comfort and feel to my glocks. traded it off and know that while I enjoyed having it as a first handgun, it's place is in my memory and not my safe.
