Stupid idea: How well would a 3D printed picatinny rail hold up to 12 gauge slugs???

Please see the attached pictures. This will be fun! I'll be using my old S&W police department 12 gauge.

Looks like a Model 3000?

I've got two...smoothest action I've ever felt on a pump shotgun...bolt and slide move like they're on ball bearings.

Mine are actually Mossberg-branded...they took over importation from Howa for a year or two in the late 80's after S&W stopped importing them. They're a close copy of the 870, but the only thing I've found that interchanges are stocks.

Let us know how the mount works. How did you secure it to the receiver?

(I've since swapped the pistol grip out on the blued one)

I'm still working on the best way to secure it to the receiver. Right now it's purely a friction fit.

I LOVE this 3000.

I LOVE this 3000.

As luck would have it, I stumbled upon a like-new S&W 3000 today at a pawn shop...polished blue with a factory folding stock. Marked at $399.

I resisted, but may find myself bringing it home if it's still there in a month or so. I need another 3000 (or any shotgun) like I need another hole in the head.
