Looks like it will be a good year for deer in good old Bama. Be safe out there and be sure of your target.
Nice. Good shot. Did you have to go find it ?Finally got one on the last day of the year! Shot this 8 point at about 6:30 this morning from about 25-30 yards with my 7mm-08 while he was walking by. First deer I've even seen all season View attachment 4278
Thanks! Yeah he ran about 30-40 yards but that was it. Entry wound is in the picture but no exit wound. Chest cavity was devastated thoughNice. Good shot. Did you have to go find it ?
Haha those ones are so much fun. I was going to go in the AM but decided not to. I'll give it another go Thursday probably. I need to get about 2 moreSo I had a really lucky weekend because I got another one this evening. Small doe shot from about 65 yards hit in the same spot as the 8 point but she ran about 150 yards. Had to drag her out of a swap which wasn't very fun but I've got a freezer full of venison now.
Thanks! I saw an absolute monster on Monday but didn't get a chance to even raise my rifle on him because he was chasing a doe and I only saw him for about 5 seconds. I did have about 10 hogs come out an hour later and took a shot at one but unfortunately missed. First time I've actually seen hogs on that land so I'm going to be focusing on trying to hunt them now.Nice deer
That's a nice 8 point - we've still got another weekend so hopefully you'll get your chance stillThis little guy has been hanging around my place.
Would sure like to get a chance to take a shot at him. Timing just hasn't been there and we are just about out of season...
What times are the coming out?@madmyk heck man I keep getting them on camera but haven't seen anything in person since I shot my first
Ah, yeah that's how they do sometimes430 in the morning or 730-8 at night
Man they been doing that just about all season. Catch one slipping up here and there but not much. There are some smart ones around here lol. Plus I'm a 1st year hunter so I'm sure I aint helping lolAh, yeah that's how they do sometimes
Awesome, glad you getting out there! I'm sure you probably already know but be sure to keep your scent in check as much as you can and to check the wind direction. I've had my best luck either right before or right after a rain storm and right around either a full moon or a new moon. Other than that it's just being in the right place at the right time which is mostly luck.Man they been doing that just about all season. Catch one slipping up here and there but not much. Yeah I think alot of it has to do with the Old man moving his blinds and shooting houses all around the property the whole time. He is the only one shooting any lolAwesome, glad you getting out there! I'm sure you probably already know but be sure to keep your scent in check as much as you can and to check the wind direction.
